‘In a Bubble’ is a 360° virtual reality video exploring the sensation of ‘being in a bubble’ during lockdown.

'We perform yoga moves and focus on our breathing, our healthy bodies and our emotional wellbeing. We feel the need for connections. But we are alone. During the 5 minute video we very gradually come together to share space in reality, in a new normal; a physically distant normal.'

Naomi Morris

'One of the things we learn early in life is that playing with a friend is great fun. And whilst all children also argue with their playmates, the experience of making things up together, outweighs all disagreement. As we get older, there’s a lot less time for this type of playing, and we do things by ourselves, or we play with others by rules that are strictly laid out in games and such. That’s fun too, but of a different kind. We are all particles of something bigger. To give this a precise name is not easy. Sometimes we really can feel that we are a part. We are also familiar with the feeling of being wrapped up all alone. During lock-down many of us experienced the sensation of ‘being in a bubble’. It’s not always the best place to be. When we meet again, we will blow bubbles together. And when they bump into each other, they may burst. We are very much looking forward to that.'

Use the mouse or your finger to scan 360 degrees of the virtual reality video.

Some newer smart phones with a gyro function allow the viewer to see the video in a similar way to virtual reality by moving the phone to orientate the video.
